BCHSPA Festival of Trumpets

On Tuesday, November 8, the Birdie & Carol Harris School of Performing Arts will present a Festival of Trumpets!

Students from all around the tri-state area will come together for an exciting learning and performing opportunity,

as they experience music like never before!

Akron native and Yamaha Performing Artist Chuck Seipp will be presenting a Master Class for middle school, high school and college trumpet students, focusing mainly on trumpet technique. During the afternoon session, participants will be able to play for and learn from this highly esteemed and accomplished musician. In the evening, the trumpeters will be joining Dr. Seipp and accompanist Dr. Randall Sheets as they present a recital. Seipp and Sheets have selected a diverse program, highlighting musical, virtuoso, beautiful, humorous and patriotic selections that will definitely entertain and inspire!

Chuck Seipp

2017 FESTIVAL DETAILS COMING SOON!!

Trumpeter Chuck Seipp is Professor of Trumpet at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA. He was Visiting Professor at Texas Tech and prior to that served 32 years with The United States Army Band as Sergeant Major and Group Leader of the Concert Band. Chuck toured and recorded throughout Europe with organist Diane Bish - appearing regularly on her TV series. Through CJ Seipp Music Publications, he markets his brass arrangements, many of which have been recorded by the Canadian Brass. Chuck's recording of his published "Wedding Book"  proves to be a valuable resource for organists and wedding soloists. Dr. Seipp holds degrees from Kansas University and Catholic University.

Randall Sheets

Randall Sheets has been Ceremonial Organist for Arlington National Cemetery for the last eighteen years. In that capacity he performs over 600 services a year in the historic Old Post Chapel and the Memorial Chapel. He is also Music Director for all Protestant services held at Joint-Base Myer-Henderson Hall. He directs an annual series of Advent, Christmas and Lenten Concerts, as well as other special programs. He holds degrees from Wittenberg University, Bowling Green State University, and received his Doctoral Degree from the University of Maryland. Dr. Sheets has performed extensively as a pianist, organist and instrumental accompanist.
